The 28th MassKara Festival is the prelude to the diamond year of Bacolod that starts next year. As such, it celebrates the icons of Bacolod – symbols, institutions, landmarks and products that have, over time, become representative of the city. These icons include the bandstand at the Bacolod public plaza, the San Sebastian Cathedral, piaya, butong-butong and other sugar products, sugar stalks, San Miguel Beer, fighting cocks, durian and mangoes, orchids and other cutflowers, prawns and other seafoods and the like.
